Beyond the Global City

I have been invited to participate in a two-day colloquium, ‘Beyond the Global City‘, at the Centre for Creative Collaboration.

‘Beyond the Global City: Visual, Verbal and Virtual Experiences’ is the third in a series of colloquia organised by the interdisciplinary ‘Global Cities and Visual Culture’ research group. Extending our sphere of inquiry beyond the configuration and representation of particular cities, we aim to raise broader issues around interpretations of globalization, conceptualizations of its processes and effects, and lesser-studied aspects of its temporal and spatial reach.

The participants are:

Dr Amanda Crawley-Jackson (University of Sheffield)

Dr Ruth Cruickshank (Royal Holloway, University of London)

Professor Jonathan Harris (University of Southampton)

Professor Shirley Jordan (Queen Mary, University of London)

James C. Kent (Royal Holloway, University of London)

Professor Christoph Lindner (University of Amsterdam)

Gladys Pak Lei Chong (University of Amsterdam)

Dea Van Lierop (University of Amsterdam)
